He made both the honor roll and dean’s lists. Jim graduated with Clinical Honors for his work assisting immigrants with navigating the complex naturalization and adjustment of status process as well as litigating landlord-tenant and credit disputes.

Prior to law school, Mr. Dawdy lived, worked or traveled in over 50 countries, as a health, safety and emergency medical consultant to the oil and gas and construction industries, as well as for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Afghanistan. He served on two volunteer missions to Sarajevo and Mostar during the Bosnian conflict delivering medical aid while under fire.

Mr. Dawdy has resided and worked in Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Romania, thus he has an intimate understanding of the challenging legal issues that effect expatriates, retirees, digital nomads and others seeing to live abroad. In 2017 he was appointed by the President of the American Bar Association to the Central Europe and Eurasia Law Initiative (CEELI) Council of the ABA’s Rule of Law Initiative, where he served three terms advising on legal training and assistance programs aiming to improve the rule of law in the region, and is currently a member of the ABA’s Eurasia Committee. While in law school he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Kenneth Gonzales of the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico. As as a law clerk he was mentored by Jacob Vigil, a Fellow of the American Association for Justice’s National College of Advocacy (NCA), a past member of AAJ’s Board of Governors, and an instructor for Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyer College. Thus, Mr. Dawdy gained one-on-one instruction in complex litigation from one of the most successful trial attorneys in New Mexico.

Mr. Dawdy is an experienced Chicago trial attorney with multiple 7-figure verdicts, settlements and mediations.

He has represented clients from all walks of life and understands the need to handle each client as an individual and not just another case.
